Mobile Dimensioning System for National Retailer

A mobile dimensioning system is collecting dimensional and weight data of new items at the Coles Regional Distribution Centre in South Australia. Supplied by Scale Components’ Brisbane branch, the CubiScan dimensioning system is trolley mounted to allow mobile operation around the large warehouse.

The CubiScan 100 Dimensioning System eliminates the need for data to be both collected and processed manually into the client’s Warehouse Management System.  Each item to be added as warehouse stock is simply placed onto the CubiScan 100’s platter to automatically attain both the dimensional and weight values. The operator attains the item’s ID details using the attached hand held bar code scanner with all details stored by the onboard PC for later downloading into the WMS.

The Dimensioning System is fully self-contained and includes:
• Trolley mounted CubiScan 100 dimensioning & weighing system
• Integrated cordless hand held bar code scanner
• PC with data capture/WMS interface software
• Inverter with heavy duty deep cycle battery
• Battery charger for overnight charging

Scale Components has a complete range of Dimensioning Systems available to readily identify both the external dimensions and the weight of items ranging from CD’s and small books up to oversize pallet loads. Compiled data is then transferred directly into the WMS or for mobile applications, stored in the onboard PC for downloading at the end of each shift.
